FAQs

What kind of power does it take to run a roaster?

Standard 10 series roasters are single phase 240V with a supply circuit of 100A. 3 phase is also available. Refer to the Specifications for full details.

How much can a Red Jacket Roaster roast per day?

How much capacity you get from your Red Jacket Roaster will vary depending on your seed type, condition and quality. If roasting soybeans with a 1044 roaster, for example, expect to roast around 1.8mt of raw soybeans per 24 hour day per roaster. There are various sizes of roasters and options available. Review the Options and Specs for more details!

What seeds can I roast?

Red Jacket roasters can roast any grain that can be conveyed with an auger, including Soyex from an Energrow press. Seeds include but are not limited to: soybeans, corn, flax, milo, wheat, barley, peanuts, hemp, etc.

Is there much maintenance?

Roasters are designed to be very durable and easy to use and maintain. Minimal service is required. Systems are designed to be able to run unattended 24/7. Most farms take years of running before needing any parts for their roasters, at some point you'll replace a heat element which isn't an expensive part and can be self replaced, service on these roasters is very minimal.

Where do I get parts and service?

Parts and service are available directly from Energrow by calling, texting or emailing our service support - whatever you prefer!

Where is the best place to put this on my farm?

Energrow will work with you to decide on the best location for your Roasting System. The systems are compact and getting it setup even temporarily to start is an option too! Most farms setup their roasting system in one of two ways for the resulting roasted product: Commodity bay - this is most common for farms that already use commodity bays to store and are limited with access to storage bins. Roaster can be on ground level or hung up. Automated cooling and capture bin and takeaway - this is the most common for farms that want the roasted feed in a bin to deliver it automatically to the mixer, feeding system, robots, etc.
