The Energrow Process

Before pressing, the soybeans are cleaned, cracked, and/or de-hulled to maximize oil extraction. The prepared seeds are fed up through an auger to the extruder, where a sensor keeps the hopper filled at a specified level. A magnet is also installed to ensure that any metal remnants remaining in the prepared seed are not fed through the extruder. The immense pressure from the internal screw in the extruder causes oil to drip down into the first sedimentation tank. The meal comes out in pellet-like shapes through the front nozzle opening and slide down a pipe into a waiting storage receptacle. Once allowed to cool, the meal can then be served directly to livestock as a protein supplement. The oil, upon sedimentation and proper filtering, can then be used to run a converted diesel engine for power.
