A Message from the Honourable Leona Dombrowsky, Minister
"On behalf of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, I congratulate Energrow Inc. on its official product launch. I regret I could not be with you at today's open house.
I commend Energrow on its development of an innovative, small-scale vegetable oil press and production system that allows the on-farm processing of oilseeds to produce a livestock feed supplement as well as a bio-fuel.
With the growing concern over declining fossil fuel reserves and environmental concerns related to climate change, greenhouse gas production and air pollution, on-farm renewable energy production is rapidly emerging as an area worthy of further exploration, research, and innovation.
Energrow is an example of a grass-roots company exploring how farmers can become involved in meeting this global challenge. The lessons learned by these early entrepreneurs will pave the way for Ontario farmers to become even more efficient in delivering food, feed, and even some of the energy needed to ensure the health and prosperity of Ontarians.
I congratulate you on your achievements, and wish you all the best for the future."
